Texans rookie RB Tate done for season

08/16/2010 - Houston, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Houston Texans rookie running back Ben Tate will miss the season due to a fractured ankle, head coach Gary Kubiak announced on Monday.

Tate was carted off the field in the third quarter of Saturday's 19-16 loss to Arizona.

The second-round pick will be placed on injured reserve and will undergo surgery later this week.

"The surgery should be fine; he should be back playing next year," Kubiak said. "It's a big blow because we were counting on him a great deal. He's a good-looking young player, but he'll be back. He's a good kid. He'll be back."

The Auburn product was expected to help boost the team's paltry running game, which ranked 30th in the NFL a season ago. He ran for 1,362 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior with the Tigers in 2009.

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch

Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.

Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.

"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
